Athlete of the Week - 10/24/2009
Utah Sports Action is pleased to announce the Athlete of the Week from October 19th – 24th. This week one athlete stood out amongst the rest not only for his performance but how he carried his team to victory.
Bingham had a game he will never forget Friday night against Pleasant Grove. Bingham, who scored a 44-yarder in the third quarter, was without any timeouts on his 2nd attempt, so he and the kicking crew were forced to rush on the field to attempt a 37-yarder that sailed through the uprights to tie the game with 9.9 seconds left in regulation. In overtime, Bingham had his chance to seal the win and that is just what he did as he nailed a 40-yarder.
On the season Bingham has 12 field goals, 41 PAT’S and 77 points for Alta. His career stats are 19 field goals, 100 PAT’S and 157 points. Alta, now with a record of 8 and 2, are heading into the playoffs as the team to beat having won their last 5 games.
