Athletes of the Week - 10/12/2009

Utah Sports Action is pleased to announce the Athletes of the week. There were a lot of outstanding performances this week from every sport. But this week two athletes stood out the most Alta’s Kealia Ohai and Park City’s Dylan Chynoweth.
This week against Pleasant Grove she scored two goals to help Alta win 3 to 0. Also, this week she scored 1 goal against Brighton that ended in a tie. Alta now has a record of 13 wins 2 losses and 1 tie. Ohai considered the best female soccer player in the state is also one of the most sought after recruits in the country. So far this season she has scored 27 goals and an average of 1.69 goals per. game. On her career at Alta she has scored 120 goals in 76 games and an average of 1.58 goals a game. Before she signed with North Carolina she was recruited by USC, Portland and UCLA. We wish her the best on the rest of the season and next year at Chapel Hill.
Chynoweth has been running over teams all season and on Friday night against American Leadership he has once again proved he is one of the best running backs in the state. He finished the game with 11 carries for 275 yards (25 yards per. carry) and six touchdowns. He scored two touchdowns on his first two carries one for 41 yards and the other 62 yards. On the season he has carried the ball 102 times for 1,337 yards (13 yards per. carry) and 20 touchdowns. He is being recruited by Air Force, Navy, San Diego State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah and Utah State. If you haven’t seen Chynoweth play yet you are missing out on a tremendous athlete. Congratulations to both Dylan Chynoweth and Kealia Ohai on outstanding performances.
