Athletes of the Week - 11/14/2009

Utah Sports Action is pleased to announce the Athletes of the Week from Nov. 9th – 14th. There were many outstanding performances this week but three athletes stood out a little more than the others.
Hinds, has been tearing up defenses all year for Davis and on Friday the 13th he was Hunter’s worse nightmare as he rushed 19 times for 187 yards (9.8 yards per. carry) and 2 touchdowns. His effort helped Davis move into the 5A State Championship game against Bingham on Friday the 20th. On the season Hinds has carried the ball 256 times for 1,888 yards (156 yards per. game) and 23 touchdowns. Hinds and Davis now faces their toughest opponent Bingham at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Brown, the dual-threat quarterback was all over the field Friday against Mountain Crest. He led his team in rushing and passing to help his team move onto the 4A State Championship game. He rushed the ball 24 times for 187 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also completed 9 of 15 passes for 100 yards. On the season Brown has rushed for 764 yards on 115 carries and 15 touchdowns. He has passed for 2,038 yards completing 125 of 186 passes (67%) and 18 touchdowns. Timpview now faces Springville on Friday at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
Badger has been the leader on defense all year for Timpview. Against Mountain Crest last Friday he finished the game with 12 tackles one for a loss of 2 yards. Not only is he a hard hitter but he can cover ground like the Steelers safety Troy Polamalu. He will be taking his aggressive style of play to South Bend next year to play for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. On the season he has 71 tackles and 3 interceptions. Timpview now faces Springville in the 4A State Championship on Friday the 20th. Look for Badger to be the difference maker on the defensive side for Timpview. Congratulations to all three athletes for outstanding performances and the win to move onto the State Championships.
