Week 3 Athletes of the Week

Utah Sports Action is pleased to announce the athletes of the week for week 3. This was another tough week in deciding who should be player of the week. So this week like last we have picked co-players of the week in Grand senior Dallen Dalton and Mountain Crest junior Alex Kuresa.

In Mountain Crest 48-0 win over East Kuresa, the junior QB completed 21-28 passes for 427 yards a career high and 6 touchdowns also a career high. So far this year he has passed for 1036 yards and eight touchdowns in only 3 games averaging 345 passing yards per game. Kuresa, comes from a very athletic family. His dad Dave played at Utah State and in the NFL. His brother Jake was a 2nd team All-American lineman for BYU in 2006. Alex currently holds an offer from Gary Anderson and Utah State. Some other schools of interest are UCLA, BYU, and Utah. Let’s not forget that this kid is only a junior that list of schools of interest will double by next year.
Dalton was all over the field Friday night against Carbon. Playing both sides of the ball like Dalton can be a grueling task. But to do it as efficient as he did Friday night is very impressive. The senior running back/ linebacker returned two interceptions for touchdowns one for 25 yards and the other for 33 yards. He rushed for a 13 yard touchdown and caught one from 13 yards out in the Red Devils’ 49-9 win over Carbon. Grand High is lucky to have such an outstanding athlete playing on both sides of the ball with such an impact in every game they play. Congratulations to both Alex Kuresa and Dallen Dalton for outstanding performances. We will be sure to watch the both of you perform the rest of the season.
